Abigayle Lobsinger Waterloo’s Toughest Cookie and the Ronald McDonald House of Hamilton
UPDATE!!!! Please click here to see how you’ve all helped little Abigayle and her family!!
Nolan Melchin was an amazing and caring little boy who lost his courageous battle to brain cancer in March of 2013.
Over the last three years, his family and friends have raised nearly $100,000 for various charities and organizations, as well as created an outdoor classroom at the Laurel Creek Nature Centre in his memory.
In addition to their committment to support the Ronald McDonald House of Hamilton, Nolan’s family and friends will be supporting another local family during their own journey with childhood cancer with funds raised from the 3rd Annual Nolan Melchin Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 11, 2016.
Abigayle Lobsinger is a three-year old little girl from Waterloo who is battling childhood cancer. She is currently undergoing an aggressive treatment plan and has already experienced numerous surgeries, blood transfusions and rounds of chemotherapy – something no child should ever have to endure..
Known as “Waterloo’s Toughest cookie,” Abigayle is an inspiration to everyone she meets – as is her mom, her dad and her three wonderful big sisters.
Abigayle’s mother has been forced to give up her home daycare business in order to be by her daughter’s side, and her father has missed considerable time at work in order to drive his wife and daughter to the many out-of-town medical appointments. Although this contributes additional strain on the family, their first priority is Abigayle.
Nolan’s family knows how difficult it is to watch a child struggle through cancer treatment – not only is it terrifying and emotionally draining, but it is also financially stressful. Between the lost wages and the added costs of gas, parking and medical expenses, it is an overwhelming experience for any family and the Lobsinger’s are no different.
They deserve our help!
